A creature without beginning or end, Ranma is a higher planar entity with a body that is nothing more than an act of will exerted upon reality. The end result of an experiment unleashing the heights of technology and magic, completely unknown and unintended by his creators, he is something unalike with any other (known) being.

Unsure of itself, beyond the general scope of its' origins, the entity soon began to study the only thing it could find, lower planar lifeforms. Soon enough, he, as it became accustomed to think itself though it was beyond the range of gender, formulated how to create shells, bodies, for usage in the lower planes in order to interact, intermingle, further his studies of all other lifeforms and search for any information pertaining to other lifeforms remotely akin to his own. These bodies, mere trinkets, could be rebuilt, recreated, multiplied, thrown away at any time with gender, races and species well within the bounds of his control. 

Still, despite all this capacity, Ranma, as he came to claim himself, continually finds himself on equal standing with those he meets; At a loss and in dire need of information and experience.
